Ancient writings and traditions of civilisations around the world which make reference to the flood. Although they give varying accounts, they do all make reference to a catastrophic flooding of the world.

Second - the Dead Sea Scrolls evidence.  The opponents of the bible will often say that evidence becomes corrupted over time as with the Chinese whispers argument.  The Dead Sea Scrolls clearly demonstrate beyond all reasonable doubt that it is possible for ancient writing to remain substantially intact for periods of at least 2000 years.  24' by 10” wide scroll of the book of Isaiah dated 100BC; apart from this the earliest known copy was 1000AD.  When the two copies were compared it was almost word for word, with only a few differences which made no difference to the sense of the text.

Third - fulfilled prophecy.  If you go to 100prophecies.org you can see for yourself the evidence that the Bible is God's word and accurate in foretelling the future.  The main biblical prophecy which has been fulfilled in recent times is the establishment of the state of Israel.

Four - our personal relationship that we have with God.  The fact that for the Christian at least, we know that we know, that God, Jesus and The Person of the Holy Spirit exists.  We have the witness of this in our hearts.

Five - implementation of the word of God. The bible contains promises to man from God.  We can at the right time pray into these promises and expect God to honour His word and answer our prayers, always assuming that we are not asking for something amiss and our motives are right.  When this happens our faith rises and we become encouraged and realise God knows our name.   He cares about our situation enough to have listened to our prayer and answered.  It also confirms that His word to us in the bible is true and accurate.

Six - the word of our testimony (Rev 12v11).  The word of our testimony is when the events of our lives conform to what the bible says will happen. How God has fulfilled His word in our lives.  This is when our story (testimony) is linked to the word of God.

We all need food and drink to live and we need spiritual food to remain strong and healthy.  We need to read the bible at least once a day and to pray.

New Christians can be hungry for the “Word of God”, so I will do the best I can to help you understand the things of God.  I suggest that you do not read too far ahead but rather  read a portion,  then think and ponder it. It is possible to get spiritual indigestion if you take too much in too quickly.

I suggest that you read the gospel of St Mark.  This is a good place to start and become acquainted with the stories and teachings of Jesus.  In my opinion the best bible to read is the New King James version. It is very good because it has the closest accuracy of the King James version with the thees and thous removed.  For teachers of the word, the King James bible is the most accurate provided you can handle the old vocabulary.

Once you have read St Mark, move onto the other three gospels in their turn, then Acts of the Apostles and steadily through the books of the New Testament.

There are many anointed teachers of the Word of God that can help you to understand what has happened to you and understand the bible and what it says.  For example United Christian Broadcasters (UCB).  Google them and write to them and ask them to send you a copy of 'Word for Today',  it's quite free and there is good daily teaching that will help you to grow spiritually.  You can also Google Joyce Meyers, she is an American lady who teaches practical Christianity based on the bible and her teaching will help you grow.   However the best teacher is the Person of the Holy Spirit, He is the Spirit of truth and will lead you into all truth.  The Holy Spirit will help you understand the bible if you ask Him. We experience God in three ways.  We experience Him as God the Father, as God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.  (6)For related scriptures.
